My vocabulary isn't enough to express my hatred towards backgrounds, so instead of drawing a lame one (which I tried and it was indeed lame), I'll go with gradient because it makes me look cool.

I don't think you're the only one with a hatred for bg :3 Well, I was just wondering why there's a light spot at the end of the stick thing he's sitting/kneeling/? wtf I have no idea what he's doing on :3

This is a really nice pic, and I think the bg you did suited the mood of the pic. Plain and simple bg roxxx~~~!!! XD

He's supposed to be squatting on his sword, but it's hard to show that it's a sword from this angle

The light spot is the shadow inverted. Thanks for the comment!

Oh... I see :3 So he was squatting on his sword this whole time... isn't that dangerous? XD Ah, anyhoo I guess it's just a wrong angle, perhaps, to show that he was squatting on his sword ^_^;

Well... he's light, and the sword is long

I wanted the guy to be at this angle though, guess I've to sacrifice the sword.

Ya... guess you can't put him in any other angle...

Maybe you should make him stand on the tip of the sword blade!! Ahh haa haa that would be quite funny if the blade went through his foot!! XD
